Clear information on Medicare, bulk billing, private health insurance and any out-of-pocket costs — before your appointment.
Medicare & bulk billing
In Australia, many diagnostic imaging services are covered, in full or in part, by Medicare when you have a valid referral from a GP or specialist. When a service is bulk billed, we claim the Medicare rebate directly, and you pay nothing out of pocket.
Not all scans or circumstances qualify for bulk billing — eligibility depends on the type of scan, your referral, and in some cases your concession status. Our team will always confirm your out-of-pocket cost (if any) before your appointment, so there are no surprises.
Lung cancer screening — always bulk billed
The low-dose CT scan under the National Lung Cancer Screening Program is fully covered by Medicare for eligible patients, with no out-of-pocket cost. See our Lung Cancer Screening page for eligibility details.
Private health insurance
Please note: Medicare-eligible diagnostic imaging (X-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, DEXA) is generally not claimable through private health insurance in Australia, as it's covered under Medicare rather than hospital or extras cover. If you have questions about your specific situation, our team is happy to help.
DVA, WorkCover & TAC
We accept DVA (Department of Veterans' Affairs), WorkCover, and TAC (Transport Accident Commission) referrals where applicable. Please bring your relevant claim details and approval documentation to your appointment.
Payment
Any gap payment is due at the time of your appointment unless other arrangements have been made. Questions about cost? Get in touch before your appointment and we'll happily confirm what to expect.
